This fine piece had suffered some of the most common problems. It had been dropped on it’s head, bending the spark wheel cover, and breaking the attaching tabs. The impact knocked the mechanism off kilter resulting in no activation of the spark wheel. Following that mishap someone put it away with the flint still under spring pressure resulting in the dismal split flint tube syndrome.
