Striker lighters usually need a new flint strip at the minimum, many need new wicks or replacement wick material, and many are found with no wand at all- in which case I make a replacement wand for them. I have also repaired strikers that have been dropped and the bases partially or completely broken off- usually by making a reinforcing plate to go inside the base so the figure can be restored to its original location. I do as much or as little cosmetic repair as the collector desires- some want their pieces to look like new- some want them to be as original as practical- I lean to keeping them original, but either is fine with me.
